TobyMac Joins The Debate About Potential DC Talk Reunion
Former DC Talk member TobyMac, now a successful solo singer in his own right, has fueled the growing rumours about a DC Talk reunion in the near future. Speaking to Billboard Magazine in the US, TobyMac was asked about the band reforming, a topic which has continually been raised by fans, media and industry insiders alike. "I think the truth is when it's right for all three of us, I'm sure we'll be willing to do something", said TobyMac in the Billboard interview. "Why wouldn't it happen? The timing just has to be right for all there of us."
One of TobyMac's former band mates from DC Talk, Kevin Max, told fans as recently as last month that he was actively trying to get the band back together. Writing on his Twitter page, Kevin Max said "Trying to get a DCT tour happening, perhaps next year, any of you down?", before later adding "Yes I am serious. I don't want to see the bands legacy go down like a Lost Titanic."
In his interview with Billboard, TobyMac also revealed that he has been "working on a Christmas song or two" that may grow into a full Christmas album. He also confirms plans for a new book, named 'City On Our Knees' after the first single from his current album 'Tonight', which will focus "more on other people's stories, inspiring stories about people who stepped across the line and made a difference."
TobyMac recently took a break from his touring schedule to spend some time with children diagnosed with HIV at the 2010 A Time for Heroes Celebrity Picnic, sponsored by the Elizabeth Glaser Foundation in Los Angeles. Other celebrity guests included Stacy Keibler, Billy Crystal, Lori Loughlin and Billy Bush. The event raised over $1.3 million to help the Elizabeth Glaser Foundation eliminate pediatric AIDS.
