Switchfoot Begin Recording New Album 'Vice Verses' For Summer 2011 Release

Jan 19 2011

American rock band Switchfoot have begun work on their next studio album, to be titled 'Vice Verses'. The band confirmed they have recently entered the studio to start recording the album with producers Neal Avron and Mike Elizondo and engineer Adam Hawkins ahead of an expected Summer 2011 release date.

Writing on their Twitter page on 11th January 2011, the band said "We officially started tracking today on the new record vice verses". A few days later, Switchfoot's lead singer Jon Foreman added "Recording a new Switchfoot record, right now... pretty excited about it." 'Vice Verses' will be the band's eighth album, following on from 2009's hugely successful 'Hello Hurricane' which received a Grammy nomination last year.

The band had previously divulged that they had whittled down a list of 40 songs to a shortlist of 20 ahead of recording the new album. Speaking to American entertainment reporter Ralphie Aversa last August, Jon Foreman said "In the song 'Vice Verses', there's a line that intimates the idea that every blessing is a curse. So the curse of having your own studio and free time is recording all these songs that you believe in."
