Mar 02 2011

Peter Furler, the former lead singer of rock band Newsboys, signed a new record deal this week with EMI Christian Music Group as he launches a solo career. Peter has been busy in the studio for months, working on new music, and his new single 'Reach' will be launched to radio stations on 25th March 2011 and go on sale at iTunes on 19th April 2011.

Peter, who's solo album is expected to be released in June 2011, has been working in the studio with Me In Motion front man Seth Mosely and former Newsboys bassist Phil Joel on new material. He is also being managed by Tony Patoto, who was formerly British rock band Delirious' manager.

Australian-born Furler was originally Newsboys drummer, before taking over as the band's lead singer in 1997. Peter left the Newsboys in 2009 and is now preparing to launch a solo career. In addition to being a drummer, guitarist and singer/songwriter, Peter is also a talented painter, specialising in original hand painted drumheads and oil paintings.
