2005 was the year Fallstar released their first EP Your Eyes Don't Lie and since then they have been turning heads all over with their raw sound. Prior to 2008 the band had endured multiple line-up changes and struggles. But once settled, founding members Chris Ratzlaff and Justin Haag knew that the band had to be brought back to its roots. By the end of that year the band was back in full swing having added guitarist Jason Brown and Cody Carrier with bassist Bryan Ratzlaff.

I haven't seen this band live but from reading about them on the Internet, people say they have a hectic live show full of energy to get the crowd going and get the crowd involved with their show.
Now the band have released their debut album Reconciler. Refiner. Igniter via the amazing label Come&Live, who have released this album free via their website. Over the last few years the label has released some very strong albums, which we have reviewed on LTTM, and all available for free download, so how does this release compare?
This album is very very heavy distorted guitar rock with fast impacting drums, with a mix of high energy vocals and screaming deep vocals. This starts from the off with tracks Hunters and Black Clouds, with the latter having a melodic chorus of "My God, My God".
A very nice guitar riff kicks off Reconciler, with the drums changing rhythm and speed, adding a depth and keeping it fresh. Other tracks that are standout moments are tracks like Lurchers with great high power guitar work and energetic drums pounding the song forward. Most of the songs on this album are heavy and there isn't much let out from that, but the only softer moment comes in closing track Windows, the slowed down riff in the middle of last track is actually something different on the album.
Heavy thrash metal rock isn't the normal genre I would go for, but what I can see with this album is what a massive potential this band has within that genre, with hard hitting music and vocals that people who enjoy music of this style will love. If you want distorted screaming vocals singing about hope, revival, community and love, then look no further than Fallstar!
