Rend Collective Hit iTunes Chart With 'Homemade Worship By Handmade People'

Jan 09 2012

The new album from Northern Ireland worship band Rend Collective Experiment, titled 'Homemade Worship By Handmade People', has now been released. The album has already started climbing the mainstream iTunes UK Album Chart, reaching number 34 on Tuesday morning (10th January 2012) and number 12 on the Amazon Mover And Shakers Chart.

Discussing the album in an exclusive interview with Louder Than The Music, band member Chris Llewellyn said, "The concept behind the project was to bring an album of worship songs for the church to sing, which were born out of normal life and ordinary, universal human experiences rather than detached 'spiritual' ones."

'Homemade Worship By Handmade People' was recorded and produced by the band in church halls and homes in their organic, collective style and fuses a depth of sung theology and fresh melodies that reflect themes of redemption, devotion and celebration with soundscapes that span from Arcade Fire and Mumford & Sons to Fleet Foxes and Snow Patrol. The eleven track album includes songs like 'Build Your Kingdom Here', first radio single 'Second Chances', and the band's contemporary new recording of the famous hymn, 'Be Thou My Vision'.
