Singer Sarah MacIntosh Releases Her New Album 'Current'

Mar 08 2012

Singer/songwriter Sarah Macintosh has released her latest album 'Current' this week. The 11-song project includes first single, 'We Should Run', and was produced by her husband, Jonny Macintosh, and J.T. Daly of Nashville's famed indie rock outfit, Paper Route. The album can be downloaded at iTunes now, which also includes two exclusive videos.

"I hope that the listener will grab onto them and say 'Yes! This is for me!' These are the songs of my heartbeat" says Sarah about her new songs. Popular worship leader David Crowder says, "Sarah's voice lures you into thinking bits of heaven might be here already."

Known for her work with progressive rock band Chasing Furies, Macintosh now has three solo projects to her credit including the critically acclaimed 'The Waiters, The Watchers, The Listeners, The Keepers & Me'. In addition to touring and collaborating with artists such as David Crowder, Tim Hughes, Matt Redman, Vicky Beeching and Burlap to Cashmere, she speaks and leads worship at churches around the country.

"These songs really go across the board - in one, you can tell it was written from the pit where you couldn't possibly get any lower, while another is at the spiritual mountaintop," Sarah explains. "Looking at my own life, I have seen those weeping moments we're reminded about in Psalm 30:5, and then I've seen those joy moments. They are a promise, and that's why these songs reflect both experiences."
