Dec 14 2012

British singer/songwriter Philippa Hanna has announced plans to release a new album. 'Through The Woods' will be released on 8th April 2013 and Philippa is using Kickstarter to ask fans to help fund the album in return for special rewards.

"With a collection of new songs and so many new friends and followers, it's time to make a new album", wrote Philippa on her Kickstarter page. "We've been overwhelmed by the response at events to the new material and want to give you the chance to have these songs in your collection."

"Since the release of 'Watching Me' in 2007 we've been on an incredible journey. Brand new album Through The Woods is the soundtrack to the next chapter. On this whimsical, folk inspired adventure, you'll meet wolves, swim with sharks and resist poisoned apples, eventually finding your way through the shadows and into the light of a new day.

These songs join the dots between fairytales and ancient truths engaging your senses all the while reminding that you - the leading character in your own story are AMAZING!"

Rewards for helping to fund the album range from signed copies of the CD to writing and recording a song with Philippa in the studio. "We don't have a record label to market the album at this stage so we're counting our loyal fans and friends to enable us to take things to the next level", explains the singer.

Philippa is currently supporting soul legend Lionel Richie on his UK arena tour. "It's been an emotional roller coaster", she admitted in an exclusive interview with Louder Than The Music. "So hard to process the magnitude of the opportunity! But at the same time I've been high as a kite after playing to these epic audiences and spending time with the great soul legend himself. It's cloud 9 stuff."
