GMA Canada Covenant Awards Nominations For City Harmonic, Maher, Cantelon... & Martin Smith

The nominees for the 35th Annual GMA Canada Covenant Awards have been announced, with singer/songwriter Jon Bauer leading the way with 7 nominations, Starfield's Tim Neufeld receiving 5 nominations, and artists including Matt Maher, The City Harmonic (pictured) and Fraser Campbell picking up 4 nominations.

Also nominated is London-based Worship Central worship leader Ben Cantelon, a Vancouver native, whose song 'Savior of the World' received a nomination for Modern Worship Song.

Canadian worship band The City Harmonic earned nods for both Artist and Group of the Year, plus Praise & Worship Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year for 'Holy (Wedding Day)' from their album, 'I Have A Dream (It Feels Like Home)'.

Matt Maher is nominated for Male Vocalist Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Praise Album Of The Year for 'All The People Said Amen', and Recorded Song Of The Year for 'Holy Holy Holy (God With Us)'.

In the international categories, the UK's Martin Smith receives his first Covenant Award nomination in the International Song Of The Year category, for 'God's Great Dance Floor', with other nominees including Chris Tomlin, Amy Grant and tobyMac. The International Album of the Year includes nods for All Sons & Daughters, for their recent 'Live' album and worship leader Paul Baloche for his French album 'Glorieux'.

Founded by the Gospel Music Association of Canada, the Covenant Awards honor artists, songwriters and producers who are contributing to Christian music arts in Canada. The 35th Annual Covenant Awards take place on 6th November 2013 at the Crossroads Centre in Burlington, Ontario.
