Louder Than The Music

Folk/Soul duo Daughters of Davis will release their second studio album, 'British Soul' on 1st September 2014. The new album, originally expected to be called 'Roads', was delayed from it's planned July release after the sisters landed an 18 date tour with Eels.

Comprising of sisters Fern and Adrienne Davis, Daughters of Davis also supported 2010 X Factor runner up Rebecca Ferguson on her recent European Tour.

Storm 5 Management describes 'British Soul' as, "A raucous musical road trip, the record blends soul, country and gospel in the inimitable style of the Davis sisters. From the upbeat tale of sibling rivalry in lead single 'Catch Me If You Can', to the ethereal retelling of the story of 'Bathseba'; from the vocal gymnastics of the title track to the delicate and introspective 'The River'; it is a record shaped by the groups travels across the length and breadth of the country. Eclectic, passionate and packed with vivid visuals, this is 'British Soul'."

In 2011 the girls gave up everything, quit their jobs and devoted all to their music, touring non-stop and living out of their campervan.

"It was tough doing jobs and music together as our musical career was just getting busier and busier", explained Fern in an interview with Louder Than The Music last year.

"I suggested getting a camper one day to Adrienne, really just musing the impractical daydream of just leaving everything and hitting the road... and that was that! We sold our things, gave up our jobs, cars, home and stability and went to live in a van and tour the country gigging. It has truly been an adventure, but on a shoestring budget food and shopping took a big hit so that we could have petrol money to get round the UK and busking was our breadline."
