Vineyard Records UK Announces Latest Project 'Open'

Jan 11 2016

Vineyard Records UK today announced the launch of their latest project, Open. The album, which is the follow up to the critically - acclaimed Waterfalls released in 2015, features 5 completely new tracks and some very special re-workings of recent Vineyard songs.

Speaking about the album, Jimmy Cooke (General Manager, Vineyard Records UK) says, “This is an exciting season for Vineyard Records UK. We were so encouraged by the success of Waterfalls and we wanted to follow up with an equally engaging project. Open takes us to a new level, with songs that we hope will be sung in churches throughout the UK and beyond.”

Contributors on the project include popular songwriters, Joe Blustin and Samuel Lane, and features influences from across the Vineyard Churches movement - both in the UK and the USA.

Cooke continues, “We are unearthing some incredible songwriting talent at the moment - some who are part of large churches and others who are still planting churches. What excites us is that the songs being produced are fresh , but at the same time are true to what people have come to love about Vineyard UK’s music - intimacy, lyrical depth, and a real sense of being breathed by the Holy Spirit.”

The ten track album is being released at the Vineyard Churches National Leaders’ Conference in January and to the public on January 22nd, and was recorded as a studio project with renowned producer David Plumb (29th Chapter). Writer, Samuel Lane says "I've never really worked on anything like Open before. It's something different, something unexpected; it'll take you to a place you've not been to before. I'm excited to see what God does with it. It's been a real blessing to be involved, and I think it's going to bless the Church too.”
