Bright City Release New Single 'You Are The One Thing' Ahead Of Second Album

May 01 2017

Brighton's Bright City has released 'You are the One Thing', the first single from its much-anticipated second album, which is due for international release on 7 July 2017.

Bright City’s self-titled debut album has been well received since its release in March 2015, with the record going straight to the top of the iTunes Christian/Gospel charts. Songs such as ‘Forever Yours’, ‘We Believe’ and ‘Force Field’ are sung by churches across the world and Bright City’s debut single ‘Colour’ is regularly featured on commercial playlists - including the live soundtrack to Sydney New Year’s Eve fireworks in 2015.

As a family of artists from St Peter’s Church, Brighton, UK, Bright City has an engaged following on Instagram and hopes to use all the creative arts to help people encounter God.

Since the release of its first record in 2015, the Bright City family has continued to grow, now including all aspects of creative arts. Bright City has led worship at numerous events regionally and nationally, and its monthly team nights are gatherings to inspire, network and train local artists.

‘You are the One Thing’ is an upbeat dance track that celebrates the freedom that comes through dependence on God. The lyrics and melody focus on how liberating it is to know that life is not all up to us, and that there is One that we can rely on.

Paul Nelson, Worship Pastor of St Peter’s Brighton and Executive Producer said: “‘You are the One Thing’ is a really fun and energetic song, celebrating the freedom that comes through putting our hope and trust in God. It is a story of surrendering our hearts to God, knowing that His grace has saved us. As a family of artists from St Peter’s Brighton, Bright City has had such an amazing time working together as a team to develop this new record and we hope, when it’s released this July, it inspires people and encourages them in their worship.”

Martin Smith, Executive Producer said: “It has been an honour and a privilege to be a part of this Bright City project. I’m very excited for people to hear the new songs and experience a really dynamic new sound coming out of St Peter’s Brighton.”
