More Beautiful You is the 4th release from Jonny Diaz and, although I haven't heard any of his other material, I can imagine the journey he has been through on previous albums to have honed the sound that fills his current release.

Diaz gave up a Baseball scholarship at college, where he was following in the footsteps of his 3 older brothers, to turn His attention to God and the goals He had set for Him. His last album was recorded in Nashville with the same producer that works with Jars of Clay and Bebo Norman and has opened shows for the likes of Stephen Curtis Chapman, Mercy Me and Shane and Shane. It's hard to believe from listening to this album that he isn't headlining his own shows.
Each song on the album is beautiful, subtly country but with enough soulful vibes to not scare people off and some of the lyrics will just totally blow you away with their beauty and honesty. Jonny has a really great voice which conveys passion and adds a raw edgy to the poppy, guitar laced melodies which flow through the whole album.
There is some cool style blends throughout the album. Love Like You Loved has a bizarre mix of really cool guitar riffs, a catchy melody, neat harmonies and a Hawaiian flavour that seems to all work really well together to produce a pretty beautiful song. It has a kind of Jack Johnson type vibe to it.
This is a really nice album, the kind that you can have on in the background on a lazy Sunday or on a sunny drive through the country. It is relaxing yet interesting and so beautifully written than it will stir your heart.
