To think Leeland are only 21 is kind of mind blowing, and I'm really too young to be thinking that! But, sadly, it's true. Lead singer Leeland is writing stunning lyrics and the album has a very polished musical feel, so it's not surprising that they have been nominated for so many high-profile awards.

Lead singer Leeland is writing stunning lyrics and the album has a very polished musical feel, so it's not surprising that they have been nominated for so many high-profile awards.

So let's get into it. I have to say most of this album is screaming Coldplay to me, so I'm not surprised at the critical acclaim it has received. Think back to when Coldplay released Parachutes and the buzz surrounding it, and you're pretty much where this album is at.

We start out strong with The Door moving into Follow You with its beautiful lyric. I have to say I think it was a brave decision to put this mid tempo song second. Don't get me wrong, it is lyrically beautiful and the story behind it is equally so, but it seems the kind of track you would push to the end of the album when trying to slow things down so I was very intrigued to see where the album will end up.

Unfortunately it took about half of the album for it to pick up speed for me again. The Coldplay feel is definitely there but, on occasion, they don't really get there musically. Then New Creation brings the album back to life with a great guitar riff bringing in that cool indie feel that seems to be everywhere which brought my hopes back up.

As the album moved into Weak Man the high point continues with, great melody, cute lyrics, great guitars and vocals. But it was the last track, Holy Spirit Have Your Way that sealed the deal for me. For the first half of the song I was busy thinking how Britt Nicole's Have Your Way is so much more powerful, but half way through Leeland's song I was literally stopped in my tracks. My heart was stirred to worship and the album won me over.

I guess this album is a bit hit and miss for me, but what I will conclude is that the high points of it are incredibly high points and well worth it.
