D. Oneil Releasing 'Going Public' Album
D. Oneil, an aspiring Christian Contemporary Indie artist and songwriter, releases his 'Going Public' album on 16th March, via all digital stores, featuring the recent single 'Set Off The Fireworks'.
"Music has always been a part of my life even as a young child singing in church. As a teenager I took advantage of opportunities to perform on stage. My love for music led to me becoming classically trained to play the piano, a skill that I did not cultivate. I believe that it was this training that allowed me to understand and pick up the basics of music as if it were second nature to me. Also during this period in life I learned to play the saxophone while attending middle and high school. This too kept me in a position to allow music to be a critical part of my life.
The inspiration behind this album stems from my desire to please God by sharing the gifts that he's entrusted me with. Whether it's singing or songwriting my sole purpose is to glorify God through song. A few years ago I sat in my backyard pondering and thinking. What was really happening was, I was feeling low and the forecast of what I thought my future held didn't excite me. After a few minutes of feeling low and without realizing it, I began humming a tune that my brother wrote and shared with me previously. We actually recorded the song. It was the first song that we actually collaborated together on. The name of the song is "His Grace". While humming, I realized that I still had value and that "God's strength is made perfect in my weakness". God had given me a song to sing, God had allowed me to write songs and I had done nothing with the gift God had given me. I decided right then and there that I would share my gift with the world. I began this journey and I'm now at another crossroad. I moved forward before and my goal remains to move forward with sharing my gift with the whole world.
So I decided to "Go Public" with my faith. Every song on this album is intended to point us to the love of Christ. Set Off The Fireworks is a single that I released prior to this album. I hope it will cause listeners to get excited about what Jesus did for us on the cross. He won it all, and I think we should celebrate that victory as often as we can because He is our Champion, and the "spoils" of victory are still very fresh for those of us who want to celebrate the fact that Jesus is alive.
So on March 16th my album will be released and available for all. When God's children, music lovers and people hear D Oneil or see the D Oneil logo, my prayer is that people of every walk of life will be encouraged, empowered, and energized to share the good news of Jesus Christ. I simply want to Glorify God."
