Belfast's FoldingLights Returns With 'Beauty Traded Places'

Mar 05 2019

Belfast’s singer songwriter Foldinglights (Michael Peter Ball) returns with a brand new track 'Beauty Traded Places' out now and taken from the debut album 'Subterranean Hum', due out later this year.

Set on a bed of electronic sounds, blended with electric guitars, ‘Beauty Traded Places’ journeys from dark verses of fear, to uplifting choruses and a soaring refrain. As usual Michael’s voice holds everything together drawing the listener in with honesty and conviction.

Michael Peter Ball is the artist behind Foldinglights. Desperate to add some of his colours to the madness of this world, he writes with vulnerability, and straight from the heart honesty, about faith, love, death and everything in between. He has dedicated himself to crafting music that cuts straight to the centre of the soul.

Foldinglights is equally at home performing on the stages of music venues around his native Belfast as he is leading worship in his home church and has performed with many artists including Martin Smith, Audrey Assad and Nathan Jess. He played his first London show at Camden’s famous “Hawley Arms’ venue in March 2018 with Tina Boonstra, and since then has gone on to play many of the summer festivals including Summer Madness and Creation Fest.

The 2017 EP ‘Exiles’ received glowing reviews with ‘Noose’ gaining airplay on BBC Radio Ulster, and ‘Fear The Night’ becoming a strong favourite on UCB radio while the video featured in heavy rotation on TBNUK’s television channel.
