Olly Knight Releasing Lockdown LP 'You Hold the World'

Aug 03 2020

Olly Knight will release 'You Hold the World / Lockdown LP' on 14th August 2020 with a launch party on Facebook live. The first single from the album 'All Things New' was released on 17th July and the second single 'Longing' will be out on 31st.

"Since lockdown started I’ve never known a time in my life when I’ve sung as much and written as many songs", explains Olly. "I’ve been wanting to sing about the hope that Jesus brings now & our future hope with Him in eternity!

I've been recording an album of new songs that I’ve written in lockdown like “You Hold the World”, “All Things New” and the song I wrote with my 7 year old Son Caleb called “You Died on the Cross”.

Because of this pandemic I’ve seen my friends in the music industry lose their jobs so this album project has enabled me to employ my friends Jonny, Tom and Steve to work on the album with me.

We set a target of raising £4500 in 30 days on Kickstarter. After 18 hours we'd already reached that target and in the end we raised over £10,000! I never thought we'd make that much and I was dared to do an Irish dance live on Facebook if we made it. We did make it. I was sore for a good couple of days!

I want this album to bring hope to people, bring glory to Jesus and support for my friends through this hard time. When the troubles are greater our songs will grow louder!"
