Cathy Burton To Release 'Source of Every Hour' In February

Jan 07 2010

British singer/songwriter Cathy Burton will release her fourth album 'Source of Every Hour' on 15th February. Having recently signed to Survivor Records, Cathy has been leading worship regularly at Grace Church Chichester and turning her considerable songwriting skills to focus on songs that draw the church together. The results have been impressive, with songs like 'Redeemer' immediately catching on across the country. Some of these songs were captured on the recent Live Worship album from Grace Church Chichester, also titled 'Redeemer'.

Says Survivor, "Cathy's new album is a fresh birth of new songs and revelation. This period has been incubating steadily for the last couple of years. Whether as a solo artist and festival favourite or as a co-writer with mainstream appeal, Cathy has never found herself in a rut."

Talking exclusively to LTTM in our recent interview, Cathy said of the new album: "I started the writing for this album about a year ago, and it's from writing songs for our church within the context of our worship times that this album has essentially found its beginnings." Discussing the track 'The Way', she added, "I wrote it in the car. I'm sure all my best songs get written in the car! I really like the lyrics of it and it was one of the first I wrote. The lyric starts with 'Reveal to us how Your heartbeats'. It's about remembering people who've lost their way with God and a reminder to all of us that Jesus is the way the to Father."

Cathy has previously released three solo albums, Burn Out (2002), Speed Your Love (2004) and Silvertown (2006).
