Cody Carnes - The Darker The Night / The Brighter The Morning
Cody Carnes is a worship leader whose passion is to create a meeting place for God and people with music. Many will recognize him from his time leading worship with Gateway Worship as well as being on the road and leading with his wife and fellow labelmate Kari Jobe Carnes.

"This album's message is about declaring the hope of Jesus into a hopeless situation. Jesus put death and darkness in its place on the cross."
What I enjoyed most about this album is that nothing sounds as you expect it to. This doesn't sound like a copy of a Hillsong album, it doesn't sound like another rock/pop record with those overtly melodic choruses and over used 'Christian music' lyrics. This is an album that isn't afraid to be creative and experimental with its sounds, style and production.
Think Rag N Bone Man mixed with Florence and The Machine and John Mark McMillan and you might start to work out the sounds that are coming out.
An album pops up once in a while where the majority of the tracks could be picked as a standout track and this album does that. Each song is on this album on its own merit and also because they are all quality tunes. I bet your standout tracks will be different to mine, not because one of us is right or wrong but because there are too many great songs.
On a quick side note Kari Jobe appears on two tracks and as you might expect sounds amazing. She adds an extra level to the tracks that she is on. It must be amazing to work with such a great singer and songwriter but also know she is your wife and best friend.
This album is uplifting, creative, exciting and powerful - but overall is a beautiful piece of expressional art in music. Cody has for me created a true masterpiece.
