Nesby was lead singer of the acclaimed Sounds of Blackness ensemble and has enjoyed a career spanning over 20 years in music, theatre and film. Her motion picture debut was in the 2003 musical comedy, The Fighting Temptations, in the supporting role of Aunt Sally Walker opposite Cuba Gooding Jr and Beyonce Knowles. She was in the UK earlier this month performing at the prestigious Oraclez Gospel Festival at Wembley Arena alongside Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary.
'I always sing from the heart, and I believe that whatever is sung from the heart will reach the heart of the listener,' says Nesby. 'The Lula Lee Project speaks to the issues affecting the state of the world, our current national recession and the struggles of everyday life. This project is a reminder that God is still in control. It's my duty to encourage others to rely on God; we don't have to worry because we have a refuge in Him.'
