For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?
Hi, My name is Sifra Zipora and I currently live in Australia but I'm from Indonesia :D Music has been my passion since I was little, so maybe that's the start of why I put myself into the music industry. I started my music journey officially here in Australia cause I met James and Alex, 3 matter records, that's when I completely got involved.
Tell us about your new single 'Great Are You Lord' and what the inspiration behind it was?
The inspiration behind it is from Psalm 145. Imagine, we have a great God and generations through generations just sing and shout to give Him praise. Cause He is good .. This is a song of praise.
Do you have any plans to release further music this year?
Absolutely! I am currently working on my new album, it will be in my language, Bahasa Indonesia, but .. there will be 1 - 2 songs that will be in English too.. and I am beyond excited to release that.
What message would you like people to take from your music?
Generally, a message of Hope and my goal is, when they hear my music, they know that they are not alone, they will feel encouraged and just simply it will make their day. I hope that 'Great are you Lord' could give that sense.
How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?
My style of music is everywhere I reckon. But I would say it is more pop but there's still a touch of RnB, Gospel, Acoustic and a bit Lo-fi too. My influence is definitely Tori Kelly, from how she lives and also her music.
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
The answer is definitely Tori Kelly. She is amazing, her lyrics are very real and very relevant to us. It's just like she preached through her songs.
How would you define success in your career as an artist?
Success for me, is when someone comes to me and says, "hey I listened to your song and it made my day" or "it blesses me" That's it. That's success for me.
What is your favorite album of all time?
Ron Kenoly - Sing out Album and Hindia - Menari dengan bayangan... I can listen to that album like over and over again.
You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?
oooffftt.. tough question. Hmm probably Never Lost - Elevation Worship, Tauren Wells.
What does the next year hold for you?
I think next year will be the year of something new. Opening new perspectives of how I can see lives, an opportunity to fall in love again, an opportunity to be stretched at the same time to equip me for another season of my life.
