Interview: Courageous People

Feb 18 2021

With the release of Courageous People's new single 'Tada-da-da', Louder Than The Music spoke to the person behind the music, Anesu, about the new song and finding success through fulfilling our purpose in God.

For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?

Hi! My name is Anesu but my artist name is Courageous People, tell me that's not the best name you've ever heard. I'll wait.

Apart from the name, I also happen to make beautiful, spirit filled/inspired music that is guaranteed to inspire you and move you. Whether it be your feet when dancing, or your heart being moved, either one is guaranteed to happen when you listen!

I love music so much... I don't know who doesn't but none of any of this would be possible if I wasn't madly in love with Jesus. Honestly, I can't hold it in. He's literally my everything and I hope you guys can tell from my music.

Tell us about your new single and what the inspiration behind it was?

If you're reading this, chances are that you are about to or have already listened to my new HIT SMASH record, "Tada-da-da". Great name isn't it? I know, but let me assure you the song is a hundred times better. It was so miraculous the way this song came out. It just happened;

One of those songs that you start and it sorta builds itself. Obviously God did that and I'm so, so happy with the outcome because it's so relatable in the sense that it highlights the struggle of knowing which voice to listen to, and the battles we as Christians come across particularly in the mind and life in general. But wait! Just like the bible as we know it, there is a happy ending. In this song, I also highlight that regardless of the failures, I am STILL victorious and I still CHOOSE to praise God. It doesn't matter whether I have many words or little cause ultimately all I need is a heart that's willing and whatever sound I bring out will give God the glory. My sound is "Tada-da-da". What's yours?

How would you define success in your career as an artist?

I understand that success is different for everyone. Some want to sell many records, end up on big stages in front of many people and/or even travel the whole world. For me it's much, much more simpler and I could go into detail but for the sake of sanity I'll simply say, "purpose".

I will know that I have achieved success when God is the focus every.single.time. That alone keeps me in check as it's an everyday thing too.

Success is starting and ending my day in God's purpose, this in turn ensures that everything else falls into place as it should, resulting in less pressure to perform and "please". Perfect.
