Emerging UK singer-songwriter L'Ray (luh-ray) announces the release of her 3rd single 'Prayerful Woman' on 14th of May 2021.
'Prayerful Woman' is an RnB/gospel anthem. A woman empowered by her own spirituality to get deep with the pain of life & find the words to lift herself up.
"I've always loved gospel music, I feel like it brings a different kind of energy and the songs seem to hold such power. Writing this track was about me getting honest about how I deal with life and everything it throws at you... I lift it up to God in prayer."
Bringing together RnB/Hip Hop production with dark soulful vocals backed by a gospel choir, ‘Prayerful Woman’ uses bold brush strokes to paint a picture of deep spirituality in today’s world.
Born and raised by her punk parents in the shadows of the abandoned iron and steel works of Derwent Valley in Northern England, L'Ray, grew up singing in her hometown church. Surrounded by her parents eclectic musical tastes she began to bring together a range of influences from Pink Floyd to Siouxsie Sioux, from Musicals to Grime.
