Manchester's Emma Mould Set To Release New Single 'Ese Africa'
Manchester's Christian soulful folk singer-songwriter Emma Mould is to release her latest single 'Ese Africa'.
This latest single turns yet another corner in the Songstresses eclectic musical journey with a smooth Afro beat vibe. Capturing the song's story and inspiration is a lyric video with the footage shot by Nigerian Cinematographer ‘Aiwaju Ben Ope Johnson’ who Emma worked with on the set of a Nollywood film.
Speaking about her latest single release Emma said, "I wrote this song on my guitar in a hotel in Ibadan Nigeria. I think you can tell when you listen to the song that my spirit felt so free, Africa was so good for my soul. I had such an unexpected experience in Africa whilst traveling with my good friend Rebecca Aladiran. I ended up playing the small role of a Scottish martyr in a Christian Nollywood film - set in the 1800fs. The scenes, story and the script took me back to what so many had experienced, both the Africans and the Early missionaries.
I felt revived and creatively inspired having been exposed to African Culture - and so many beautiful people at a pivotal time in my life.
For me it was such a gift to walk out of covid 19 and to step into Africa blowing the remnants of lockdown off of me. 'Ese Africa' - Thank-you Africa."
Often compared to the likes of Adele and Tracey Chapman, Emma Mould has been singing professionally since 2015 and has never looked back. She has since played at various venues across the city and has contributed to BBC Radio.
'Ese Africa' will be available to download and stream on all major outlets.
