Interview: KristeNicole

Mar 16 2023

Country Music singer/songwriter KristeNicole, from East Tennessee, mixes modern and traditional styles in her own unique sound. Her brand new single 'When Jesus Spoke' has just been released and Louder Than The Music chatted with her to find out more about her music and influences.

For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?

I am a singers-songwriter from East Tennessee who has a passion for making music that encourages other to walk in faith with the Heavenly Father. In the last year I have had 2 #1 Christian Country Hit Songs and the 2022 Christian Country Song Of The Year.

Tell us about your new single 'When Jesus Spoke' and what the inspiration behind it was?

Inspired by Jesus’ sermon on the mount this rockin song takes you back to Jesus’ ministry while physically here on earth where so many were drawn to Him because He spoke words like no other. People wanted to hear what Jesus had to say and as His followers we still want to hear from Him today and can when we have a real relationship with Him and give what He has given us back to Him.

Do you have any plans to release more music in the near future?

As a songwriter I am always writing and thinking of news things to write about and I can’t say what they are just yet but there is definitely more music to come and I’m really excited to share it with you all!

What message would you like people to take from your music?

I want people to know that your walk with the Heavenly Father doesn’t have to be boring and no matter what situation or season of life you are facing you are loved and because of Jesus we can have a hope for tomorrow.

How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?

A Country sound with a Christian lyric. I have often been told I have a Miranda Lambert sound but I would say my influences range from Wynonna Judd to The Issacs and From Tanya Tucker to Patty Loveless.

If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?

There are so many out there and as a songwriter I really appreciate the craft of songwriting because without songwriters you can’t have artists. Past I would say: Kim Williams and Present I would say: Dolly Parton

How would you define success in your career as an artist?

For me it’s the journey and being able to create music that people enjoy but also music that helps and inspires others.

What is your favorite album of all time?

Sing It Now: Songs Of Hope & Faith - Reba McEntire

You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?

This song changes for me often as I listen to music all the time but today it would be “Enter The Gates” Bryan & Katie Torwalt.

What does the next year hold for you?

As the Christian Country genre continues to grow I look forward to continuing in songwriting, recording, performing, meeting new people but above all pointing people to a relationship with the Heavenly Father.
