Will Gray Releases New EP 'Psalms, Vol.4'
The powerful new songwriter making waves in the UK Christian scene Will Gray releases his latest installment ‘Psalms, Vol.4’. Will’s ongoing Psalms project is a musical pilgrimage which sees him writing sequentially through the Psalms. The official music videos for all four songs in this EP (Psalms 11-14) are available now. The project is also available on all streaming platforms.
During the adversity of COVID-19, locked down in the UK, Will felt drawn by God to start writing through the Psalms, leading to his first EP being released in 2020. Taking seriously the call of Ephesians 5:19-20 to sing “psalms, hymns and spiritual songs”, Will has been inspired to take these ancient, God inspired texts and write fresh and bold new music. Brimming with scripture and a touch of complementary original lyrics, these songs provide a fresh take on the psalms. As every psalm is unique and diverse in its content and themes, so is Will’s desire for the project to reflect musical diversity. The project thus crosses genres and styles, and aims to collaborate with a plethora of artists to reflect God’s love of diversity within worship. These four songs range from sugary sweet pop (11) through to electronic infused neo-classical with a hint of rock (14). The hope is for these songs to help us engage and meditate in fresh ways on these inspired words penned thousands of years ago.
Will is based in London, UK where he collaborates and writes with other creatives from his home studio. Growing up with a Grandma as a piano teacher and an uncle as an opera singer, music was always a massive part of his life. After completing a year of discipleship and worship training with Living Light School of Worship in Wisconsin followed by a bachelor's degree in Music and Sound Recording at the University of Surrey, UK, Will positioned himself to have the skills and knowledge required to compose and produce his own music. Will is not only passionate about writing scripture based worship music but also writes for the new cinematic rock band ‘Pax Cultura’ who has just released their debut single ‘Heavy Machinery’. Outside of writing music, Will is a committed member of his local church and a very proud new father.
