Kayla Berry Releases 'Run and Hide'
Kayla Berry, an anointed worshipper who blends both Contemporary Christian Music and Gospel Music, has released her single 'Run and Hide'. The song is a reminder that we don't have to feel ashamed or alone for the things we have done in our past. He makes all things new, including us! We can find shelter under His wings when we run to Him.
Kayla grew up singing in the church that her father pastored, and started leading worship at the age of 18. As the worship leader in her home church (New Covenant Church in Harrisville, Ms), Kayla strongly encourages passionate worship. She expresses much passion for Jesus Christ in her worship, and strives to pursue His presence everywhere she goes. Everyone who meets her feels at ease because of her bubbly personality and love for others.
Kayla’s heart has always leaned toward the lonely, outcast, and hurting. In her words, “I, too, know the pain of feeling alone and hopeless. I haven’t always been a ‘worship leader’. There was a time I was just a ‘song leader.’ It took much brokenness, many mistakes, and the grace of God to bring me to a place of knowing how to worship! When you’re hurt, you cling to what heals you. God has been that for me.” That is why she wants the world to know that no matter what has gone on in your life, or what you’ve been through, there is HOPE. Her heart’s prayer is to break through religious boundaries and barriers to lead both the young and old into the presence of God where they can experience the mercy and joy she has experienced through God’s wonderful love.
Kayla released her first album in 2010, “The Real Me”, and then she released a single in 2015, “Never Again”. She recorded her first Live Worship Album in June 2018, and that album’s release date is TBA . Kayla is a recipient of the 2019 Mississippi Gospel Music Award, “Women In Gospel, Making Things Happen”. In 2020, she featured on MultiEthnic Record Label’s Christmas EP, ‘Christmas Time Is Here Again’, with the single “Mary Did You Know.” Kayla is also the very first signed artist under the MultiEthnic Record Label, owned by 6-time Grammy Award Winning Producer, Aaron Lindsey.
Kayla is a wife, mother and entrepreneur. She and her husband, Carroll Berry, are the owners of Berry’s Seafood & Catfish House in Florence & Magee, MS. They have been married six years and are the proud parents of Kristian (5 years old) and Alyssa (4 years old).
