Brandon Hixson Releasing New Album, 'Every Life is Beautiful'
Worship Pastor, Brandon Hixson, learned from an early age just how powerful music was on its listeners. He remembers sitting in the back seat of his mother’s car when he was five years old. A song came on the radio and his mom started crying. She cried so much that she had to pull the car over to the side of the road. A concerned Brandon asked his mom from the backseat, “Mama, what’s the matter” and his mother responded with, “this song is so haunting that it made me cry.” Brandon learned in that moment the impact of music.
Brandon Hixson began writing music when he was ten years old. The very first song he wrote was a song dedicated to his friend, Courtney. He wrote down the lyrics in his trapper keeper and recorded the song on his portable cassette player. He played the song for his friend the next day. Brandon joined the band and choir and majored in Music in College. He even earned a Master’s Degree in Worship Leadership in 2018. Brandon joined his first band, Godfueled, when he was in college. They released their debut album in 2004. “We were so thrilled to have had all 1,000 copies of our album sell in Dawson, Texas,” Hixson admitted. “We really thought we had made it big!” Brandon joined the Dallas Christian outfit, Racing Gravity in 2009. Their debut album included, Only By His Grace, a single which landed on the playlist of many stations across the United States. It also served as the theme to the movie, “One Church” starring Jessica Lynch.
Since then, Brandon has released multiple albums, several radio singles and won many different awards. His YouTube channel continues to grow, earning more than 50 million listeners and almost 100,000 subscribers. He has written songs for films, commercials, and documentaries. Three of his singles charted at #1 on the Christian Radio Music Charts including When I Finally Make It Home and The World Is Your Stage. He also has a dozen songs listed on CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International).
Brandon and his wife, Karen and their two children Caleb (studying music at Dallas Baptist University) and Caylin all reside in Ennis where Brandon has been the Worship Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church since January 2013.
