Sep 01 2025

Award-winning Contemporary Christian artist Brandon Hixson has officially released his brand-new album, The Dawn of Mercy. The 10-song collection showcases Hixson’s heart for worship, his gift for storytelling, and his ability to connect faith with real-life experiences.

The album features several standout songs that have already been making an impact nationwide.

“The Man In The Middle” and “You Broke The Silence” both recently climbed to the top of the Independent Christian Radio Charts, resonating with audiences for their powerful messages of hope and redemption. Other highlights include “My Grandparents Prayed”—a heartfelt tribute to Hixson’s grandparents, Louis and Virginia Hixson, who raised him and his twin sister Shawntee in Dawson, Texas. The song reflects on growing up in a small town in the 1980s and 1990s, and its official video has sparked heartfelt responses from listeners across the country who see their own family stories mirrored in the song.

Deeply personal songs also anchor the record:

“Yet To Come” was written for Hixson’s son Caleb as he moved into his first apartment, capturing a father’s love and hopes for the future.
“Two Of A Kind” is a moving tribute to his twin sister, Shawntee.
“The Best Gift Of All” was written for his wife, Karen, as a special gift on her birthday and to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
“It Is Well With My Soul” and “Hello, Freedom” round out the collection, pointing listeners back to faith, peace, and freedom in Christ.

Hixson not only wrote but also produced every track on The Dawn of Mercy, continuing his reputation as a multi-talented artist and producer. With over 60 million views on his YouTube channel since 2012, he has established a global platform for sharing his music. His popular Songs That Shaped Me series has also highlighted the timeless influence of popular music throughout his career.

Beyond recording, Hixson serves as Worship Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas, where he has led worship for 13 years. Tabernacle Worship is also preparing to release a brand-new 14-song album, The Rebel Redeemed, on September 26th, further showcasing the creativity and heart of the church’s worship team.

A lifelong musician, Hixson graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 2001 with a degree in Music Education. He served as a high school band director for ten years before earning a Master’s Degree in Worship Leadership from Dallas Baptist University in 2018. Born and raised in Dawson, Texas, Hixson has never forgotten the small-town roots that inspire much of his songwriting. Today, he and his wife Karen live in Ennis, Texas with their two children, Caleb and Caylin.

The Dawn of Mercy is available now on all major streaming platforms and digital music outlets.
