Procyse Drops First Solo Project in Half a Decade
Procyse’s long-awaited solo project, Good Is God, dropped on Friday, March 22, 2024 via Polished Arrow Music.
It is more than a catchphrase, more than a clever t-shirt or bumper sticker. The goodness of God is unmatched throughout eternity. Whatever the mouth utters is lacking if the heart is not convinced. Once we accept this truth, we can set our roots into its life-sustaining soil. Through storms, droughts, and anything in-between, the strength that is found in this simple statement can carry and provide for us along the way.
“It was important for me to capture not only what I have been through the previous five years since my last solo project, but also the relationships I’ve built in that time. It is also a return to form in the sound that I first fell in love with.” - Procyse
With his first completely solo project in five years, Procyse showcases the true essence of the boom bap hip-hop sound. It is a highly-anticipated release within Christian rap that follows on the heels of the releases from Procyse’s group efforts with BASECAMP and Souljornerz.
Good Is God is produced by Brokenfinga and Quincey Tones. The project features many of the top lyricists within the genre of CHH.
“The album’s title comes from what I’ve learned in my current season of life,” explains Procyse. “Most people know the phrase ‘God is good,’ but I switched the words around to remind myself that no matter how I look at it, it’s still the same. No matter how I look at situations in life, I know God has me. This project is a reflection of that goodness.”
Included on the project are the singles “Nostalgic,” “Outer Courts,” and “The Goodness” that feature East coast emcees YP aka Young Paul and C4 Crotona as well as ATTAM and Joseph SD. Christian rap veterans Braille and Kaboose also lend their lyrical abilities to Good Is God and Polished Arrow Music artists Rich Colón and iNTELLECT bring their own power-packed bars to the party.
In addition the previously released singles, Pro dropped an official music video for the song “God’s Son.”
