Interview: Kayden Gordon
Kayden Gordon has released 'Overcomer', a song he wrote featuring Brooke Nicole. Louder Than The Music chatted to Kayden about the song, his work as a radio host, and his plans for the future.
For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?
I am a syndicated radio host of "The Kayden Gordon Show, Today's Best Country Mix", online radio station owner of "Kayden Gordon Radio Network", promotion director of "KJG Media and Promotions" and a student studying Communications at Worcester State University and a songwriter. Music has always been apart of my life, I've always listened to the radio and that is what got me into music.
Tell us about your new single 'Overcomer' and what the inspiration behind it was?
Overcomer was inspired by the challenges I've had to face growing up from bullying to anxiety and everything in between. I wanted to write a song to empower people to overcome anything they may or have struggled with in life. It just needed a female powerful voice and that was where Brooke, Lily, and Elisabeth delivered!
Do you have any plans to release more music in the near future?
Yes! I don't have anything set at the moment but follow me on all socials at Kayden Gordon or head to thekaydengordonshow.com to keep up to date!
What message would you like people to take from your music?
I would hope people would take positive vibes from my music, I try to make people happy!
How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?
I would describe my style of music as country, Americana, and folk and Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, and Josh Turner are some of my influences.
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
This is a hard question - probably Luke Bryan because he is someone I have always looked up to growing up.
How would you define success in your career as an songwriter?
With me just starting songwriting in the past two to three years, I think success in anything you do contains hard work.
What is your favorite album of all time?
Luke Bryan's album "Crash My Party", hands down!
You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?
Wow, what a good question! I'd have to say Shania Twain Party For Two, haha.
What does the next year hold for you?
A lot, you'll just have to stay tuned with what I got going on to see!
