Interview: Thomas Ware

Jun 14 2024

American singer & songwriter, Thomas Ware, has releases his latest single 'Letting It Go'. Louder Than The Music spoke with Thomas to find out how it all began, and what he hopes to achieve in the future.

For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?

I grew up in a music family. My father and mother were both singers. They loved music and so, it was center piece of entertainment in our home. Naturally, I took to music and began singing at the age of four and writing by the age of eight. Since then, I haven’t looked back.

Tell us about your new single 'Letting It Go' and what the inspiration behind it was?

‘Letting It Go’ came about in the middle of a Sunday morning worship service. I remember ending a song and the spirit was so intense, I began to sing the chorus of the song. The song created an atmosphere that took us to a higher place in worship. Later that evening I was replaying the Sunday service, and I ran across that part of the worship; it was undeniable that I had something special.

Do you have any plans to release more music in the near future?

Yes, I have many songs already written and recorded. I plan to release a full project in the near future.

What message would you like people to take from your music?

I’d like to leave people with a certain solace that only music can create. I pray that my music takes people back to a time when music was purposed to heal, and it accomplished just that.

How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?

I am a music lover. I’ve always listened to all genres of music, so I can’t really pinpoint a specific source. I would say that my style of music is best described as a fusion. You just never know which style of music will dominate the next creative process.

If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be?

Ed Sheeran

How would you define success in your career as an artist?

Success for me would be the point when the great artists that I’ve listened to throughout the years, speak of me and my music on a level as being peers.

What is your favorite album of all time?

What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?

I’d write one!

What does the next year hold for you?

Only God knows.
