Ian Yates Releases 'Lament and Repent' Single
‘Lament and Repent’ is the third single from Ian Yate’s seventh album 'Kingdom'. This song is a cry, it’s a song of repentance. These 2 words can seem pretty heavy, and they are.
Repent (Metanoia): A change of mind, a reorientation, a fundamental transformation of outlook, of man's vision of the world and of himself, and a new way of loving others and God.
Lament: A passionate expression of grief or sorrow. To regret strongly, to mourn for or over. To feel, show, or express grief, sorrow, or regret.
Richard Rohr says, ‘Lamentation prayer is when we sit and speak out to God and one another-stunned, sad, and silenced by the tragedy and absurdity of human events. It might actually be the most honest form of prayer.’ He also adds ‘Lament is not despair. It is not whining. It is not a cry into a void. Lament is a cry directed to God. It is the cry of those who see the truth of the world’s deep wounds and the cost of seeking peace’.
