Rend Collective Release Double Single, 'Holy Trouble + What I Was Made For'
Worship band Rend Collective have released a double single, 'Holy Trouble' and 'What I Was Made For', available now on all streaming platforms.
"Holy Trouble and What I Was Made For are just the beginning of an absolute AVALANCHE of new Rend Collective music. We have so much music in the vault right now that we’re not just dropping a single - we’re doing an old fashioned double A side from the cassette tape era. I guess you could call it a “couple”.
Sometimes when you’ve been doing something for a long time you need to remind yourself why you started in the first place and get back to your roots. And our roots are FOLK WORSHIP.
This is what we are made for: To make REAL music, about REAL life, for REAL people, about trying to follow the REAL God.
Folk music is the perfect vehicle for that. It’s literally “music for the folk” - people music. It’s about friendship and connection with each other and with something (someONE) bigger than ourselves. It’s not prissy or stand-offish or self important. It’s proudly imperfect and better off for not being processed and professionalised. Much like ourselves.
We have never had more fun making music than we are having in this season and we’re hoping that feeling is infectious! It’s like Campfire turned up to 11.
Holy Trouble is all about having the kind of faith that “turns the world upside down” like the apostles were known for in Acts 17. Rend fans are troublemakers at heart…we know that “gentle Jesus, meek and mild” is only part of the story and that we serve a table turning, temple trashing Lion. Sometimes we have to let Him use us to start some holy trouble."
