Brian Doerksen Releases 'We're Not Alone' From Upcoming Album
Songwriter and recording artist Brian Doerksen releases 'We're Not Alone', the first single from his upcoming new album, 'Love For A Lifetime'.
"My hands fell onto a ‘Cmaj7’ chord on my piano, a chord that evokes the music of the 70’s, and I was off. “When my day feels like night.” This is a love song that joyfully expresses the assurance of having one’s marriage and romantic partner stay by our side through all the changes, even if our capacity fades as we age.
Our ability to be there for each other as human partners is rooted in the presence of divine love, that no matter what happens, we are not alone. (Psalm 139:8) From the beginning my producer and I felt like saxophone was the best feature instrument to convey enduring romantic love and Oliver Miguel, a Chilean living in Calgary, delivered it beautifully.
This is the first single from my upcoming ‘Love For A Lifetime’ Album, a collection of 12 songs focused on long faithful love. In a world filled with songs about falling in love, we need more songs about staying in love for a lifetime, and this is me singing into that gap. I hope it inspires and encourages."
