Howard Gripp Revisits 'When I Pray' With Acoustic Version Delivering Poignant Message of Hope

Mar 14 2025

Rising Christian Contemporary/Rock artist Howard Gripp releases his new song 'When I Pray (Acoustic)' on Friday March 14. This is an acoustic version of his debut single 'When I Pray' first released in 2023.

This radio friendly version features Howard's good friend Mary Linda Morlock (ML) singing background vocals. 'When I Pray' is a profoundly emotional acoustic ballad that delves into the raw and painful journey of a parent watching their child struggle with addiction.

Told through honest and heartfelt lyrics, the song captures the fear, guilt, and deep longing for redemption, while also reflecting on the solace found in prayer. The chorus serves as a powerful anchor, emphasizing the comfort and strength that come from laying everything at God’s feet.

With its stripped-down arrangement, the song’s vulnerability takes center stage, offering a deeply relatable and poignant message about hope, faith, and the enduring power of a parent’s love. This track is a testament to the unbreakable bond between parent and child, even in the midst of life’s greatest struggles.

The new single follows a breakout year for Howard, which saw the release of his EP, 'Rescued Redeemed Forgiven'. The EP featured his trademark emotive vocals and heartfelt lyrics over six songs, including 'Fearless', which has received almost 70,000 streams on Spotify alone.

Howard Gripp's music is a blend of rock and rock ballad styles, featuring electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and drums. His songs explore themes of faith, redemption, and spiritual renewal. The songs on his EP have collectively received over 300,000 streams and views across all platforms.
