This album is in reality 5 tracks long, but added to the end of the album are instrumental versions of the songs and one acoustic version of, for me, what is the best track on the album 'Above All Names' - more about that later.

The album sits right in the middle ground of the hard rock world (without being too hard/metal sounding) but then doesn't fall into the indie rock sound too much. Think Skillet, All Stars United, The Elms all mixed together and you might start to understand what I'm trying to explain (or just go and listen, that's probably easier!). This is an album that has a rock attitude but without the arrogant swagger.

The track 'Thorn In My Flesh' is the perfect example of how and what the album is all about. Opening with gloriously dramatic electric guitar tones, before the distinctive vocals float in as if calling out through the mist.

There's a real sense of the drama building, as the tempo grows with an increasing sense of urgency until the song explodes into life for the chorus. The vocals turn almost angry at times, and the guitars scream out. The pauses between verses are like the calm before the storm, the instruments are spine tingling, with synths and percussion combining beautifully.

We now finish the album with the song that got me pushing repeat, 'Above All Names' - something really resinated with me. The song is at times dark and and gritty but it's the commanding and telling chorus that lifts the track to a victorious song. When I heard this song I felt like you go on a really fascinating absorbing musical and lyrical journey.

I have already alluded to the fact that the album has the songs as instrumental versions. But for me the acoustic version of Above All Names is as good as the rockier version, both different versions, but both as significant as the other. If you are not a fan of rockier music the acoustic version of this song is a great starting point.
