Owl City Releases Taster 'Shooting Star' EP Ahead Of New Album

May 15 2012

Owl City releases the 'Shooting Star EP' today, 15th May 2012, featuring four tracks taken from the upcoming new full-length studio album, due out this Summer. The EP includes title track 'Shooting Star', along with the songs 'Gold', 'Take It All Away', and 'Dementia' which features Blink-182's Mark Hoppus on guest vocals.

First single 'Shooting Star', sees Owl City's Adam Young enlist his friend Matt Thiessen (Relient K), Stargate (Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa), and the team of Josh Crosby, Nate Campany, and Emily Wright (the latter known for her work with Dr. Luke). Seeking out co-writers and outside producers for the first time is something new for Owl City and he embraced the opportunity for the new album. This openness to working with others came after several very positive collaborating experiences including songs with Paul Van Dyke ('Eternity'), Armin van Buuren ('Youtopia'), and He Is We ('All About Us') as well as a desire to grow as an artist.

"After four years of writing music, making records, meeting new people and performing live around the world, my relationship with God is still what gets me out of bed in the morning," says Adam Young. "God has called me to do what I do and create the music I create so that I may shed a bit of light into the world and perhaps paint a picture of His unfailing love. It's been a roller coaster of a ride, but after every unexpected twist or turn, I am only made stronger because of the grip I have on the hand of my Creator."

'Shooting Star EP' Track Listing:
1. Shooting Star
2. Gold
3. Dementia (feat. Mark Hoppus)
4. Take It All Away
