Empire Nation Release Easter Single 'My Soul Was Chosen'

Mar 25 2013

British band Empire Nation have released an Easter single from their re-released second album 'Closer' following their new partnership with Kingsway Distribution.

The single, 'My Soul Was Chosen', is a retelling of the Easter story, and the video features a recreation of the Last Supper, transported to a modern setting.

Empire Nation have been a well-established independent band on the UK Christian music scene for over four years now, nominated for 'Best British Band' and 'Best British Album' at the Louder Than The Music awards 2012. This single marks the start of them coming under the Kingsway Distribution family.

"This is a band that understands the importance of touring hard and serving faithfully and as such we believe that God is starting something new in them", said Mark Bowater, Music & Media Manger at Kingsway Distribution.

"'My Soul Was Chosen' is meant to bring the Easter story to life - it's us imagining what it would have been like to have been there at the time, but knowing what we know now about the resurrection", explains Ed Bird, the band's lead singer and guitarist.

"We wanted to do the same thing with the video. We knew it might be risky to try to recreate the Last Supper, but we just wanted to do something to stir people's imaginations and bring the scene to life."

1. Closer
2. Fire Fall Down
3. Starlight
4. You're Not Alone
5. Revolution
6. Carry You to Ground
