Bio: Award-winning husband and wife duo Anita & Ben Tatlow, Salt Of The Sound, release their new album 'Echoes Of Wonder'
The release follows their 2013 debut album 'Journeys', and their 2014 EP 'Through The Mist', which was critically acclaimed as "heart-warming and simply beautiful - 5/5" by Louder Than The Music.
In May 2015, the duo were awarded the ‘Best Music’ accolade at The Attic Film Festival for the soundtrack to independent short film The Gospel Of Jon, and songs by Salt Of The Sound have been widely featured on Christian and secular media, including Swedish TV, BBC radio, and eminent podcasts such as Pray As You Go.
The album is their most personal release to date, reflecting on the amazing and unexpected ways that God works through different life situations: Echoes Of Wonder continues the unique blend of electronic synths, subtle vocal harmonies, and thoughtful lyrical messages that Salt Of The Sound have become known for, while also incorporating a renewed focus on organic sounds and evolving atmospheres.
Review by Jono Davies
Walking to the train station on an overcast, cloudy October morning with the sky covered by thick cloud and a fine drizzle in the air, in some ways sums up the atmospheric airy feel this album has.
This doesn't mean this is a downbeat album, but as I looked around at the start of day breaking before me, it was hearing the vocals of 'Did You Hear It' where this album just click with me. I felt this album was the perfect album for where I was in my life.
'Surrender' again keeps the atmospheric tone of the album moving. This album has a low key feel, a chilled experience, but in a good way. The vocals and music wrap around each other with such ease.
Another standout track on the album is 'Bring The Rain'. There are great harmonies from the husband and wife duo on this song especially. I love they melody lines that make this song feel like it could be a radio single.
Echoes of Wonder leaves the listener searching, wondering, thinking, but still grabbing out for the beauty that is in this world. I believe this album does all that in musical form. And in all honesty, words can't describe it. It's like the first time you see your wife on your wedding day, words don't do justice to how you feel. Or when you see your baby being born, no words can describe that moment and feeling, it's just beauty. And this album is that, beautiful. I'm not saying that hearing this album is as important as those key moments in life, what I'm trying to say is that there is a magical, beautiful sound that my words will never convey. Another top quality album from this duo.
