J. Douglas Wright Releases First Single From Upcoming Album 'Breathing Fire Like Dragons'
Singer/Songwriter J. Douglas Wright is releasing 'Grace Pockets' on June 21 2019, the first single from the upcoming album 'Breathing Fire Like Dragons', releasing September 13 2019. The song is about our ability to show grace to others no matter what the situation.
As the ultimate act of grace was shown to the world through Christ's sacrifice of His life for our sins, we have been given the true example of grace to follow every day of our lives. The song and album were produced by Swaff (Family Force 5, Decemberadio, Third Day, JJ Weeks Band, After Edmund, 7eventh Time Down) and was recorded live at The Delivery Room in Villa Rica, Georgia. The song features Robbie Fritz (drums), Cody Preston (guitar), Matt Rolfe (bass), Swaff (guitar), and Scotty Wilbanks (B3 organ).
J. Douglas Wright has been awarded top prizes by the International Music and Entertainment Association (Christian Song of the Year Winner for “No Go”, 2018; Christian Album of the Year Winner for HOLE IN THE SKY, 2015; Christian Male Vocalist of the Year Winner, 2013; Nominee, 2014), The Independent Music Awards (Best Contemporary Christian Song for “Glorious Savior”, 2011), The International Songwriting Association (Contemporary Christian Song, 2011), and Embassy Music (Grand-Prize Winning Songwriter, 2003). Still, his friends call him “Doug”, and he admits he will answer to just about anything (J-Dough, Dougly Do Wright, Dougie Doug, or Guod). “When we were trying to decide on an artist name for me, J. Douglas Wright seemed to work at the time, but I keep thinking of changing it to just Fred.”
