Briana Domenica Releases 'Oh Night Divine'
Christian Singer-Songwriter Briana Domenica has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season as she just released her first original Christmas single, “Oh, Night Divine.“ Domenica’s corresponding music video celebrating ‘The First Noel’ will also exclusively premiere on CCM Magazine.com at 6 AM/CST on Black Friday, Nov. 29. CCM Magazine is an online magazine about contemporary Christian music, part of the Salem Media Group, and America’s leading radio broadcaster, internet content provider, and magazine and book publisher targeting audiences interested in Christian and family-themed content.
The single, which is now available through all streaming platforms and digital retailers, was co-written with Donna DeSopo and Scott Barrier. The song was recorded and produced by Grammy award-winning musician Nate Cornell (For King and Country).
“It was so much fun writing this song with two of my good friends, Donna & Scott. I also had the joy of working with the amazingly talented Nate Cornell. He truly brought this song to life. Not only did he capture the essence of the song’s message, but also who I am as an artist.” Domenica added, “I pray this song reminds people of that precious gift given to all on that first Christmas night so long ago when a baby boy was born to save the world. My hope is that everyone who hears this song is inspired to carry His light and love in their hearts this holiday season!”
The video, which was shot on a cold winter's evening at sunset, was filmed at a friend’s farm in Nashville and was directed by Robert Chavers of Downbeat Creative. Chavers has worked with artists including Kelsea Ballerini, Abby Anderson, Hannah Kerr, Craig Morgan, and Bobby Bones. When asked about working with Chavers on this very personal project, Domenica said, “It was such an awesome experience working with Robert on my first official music video. I truly felt God’s light and love shining down on us as we started the shoot which comes across beautifully through Robert’s work.”
Domenica has big plans for 2020. She will be releasing her new CD, Warrior in Me, and will be taking her tour of the same title on the road to schools, conventions and other organizations, sharing her story and music to encourage others. Domenica has a positive and encouraging message for all ages. She wants to use her music to make a difference in the lives of others. “Music is one of my greatest passions, but I am also deeply passionate about Suicide Prevention and Awareness after losing several loved ones, including my oldest brother, to suicide; I have also struggled with suicidal thoughts myself,” commented Domenica. “In an attempt to turn family heartache and tragedy into something good, I started my 501(c)(3), Angel in the Sky, in May of 2016. I hope to raise awareness and help save lives through prevention, education, and the power of music.” Angel in the Sky was named after the first single off her debut EP, Shine.
