Folk Songstress Emma Mould Releases 4th single of 2020 'My Love'

Emma Mould is set to release her fourth single of 2020 - 'My Love'. The single drops on Friday 7th August 2020 and will be followed by an official lyric video.

Drawing inspiration from the book of Songs of Solomon, Emma paints a musical picture of a love story, with the woman in question on the album being ‘Eve'' searching for reconciliation and home with her maker and friend God.

It could easily be a letter of reception for the Church from her awaited groom ‘Jesus’. This time we see the script flip from Eve’s poetical love songs to a song from ‘God’ himself to Eve, with Eve continuing to narrate the story.

The single hails the release of Emma’s third album which she plans to re- leased this Autumn. The album is a compilation of songs written to challenge the listener ’ s ideas of love, be the forgotten voice of women, and share Emma ’ s story.

‘My Love’ has kick to it, with an upbeat soulful folk rock pop production, featuring friend and singer songwriter artist ‘Doug Walker’ joining her on Vocals. Emma ’ s songwriting is euphoric and melodious, boldly reiterating promises of a loyal love that is to come. Produced by Dan Stirling, the single has a sense of romance and passion which has cleverly been combined with Emma’s unescapable vocal intimacy - as she tells the story with tenderness and conviction.

About her new single, Emma says: "Ultimately the song is about the promise of God's loyal love to his people, and the certainty and assurance of heaven. I love to write poetically to let the art and the listener do the talking, allowing the spirit to move beyond a prescription of beliefs stated in a song. I have found my own faith walk to be the substance of constant dialogue and cultivation of my ongoing state of metamorphosis.

I worked with a number of great musicians on this song allowing me to pull in fresh influences and genres. I would love to think that this track ‘My Love’ emotionally connects with the listener on a deep level, reminding them that there is a Loyal Love greater than any human kind of love. God's loyal love really is greater than anything we can experience in this life, and upon discovery, you can not help but respond to it, and sing about it."

Often compared to the likes of Adele and Tracey Chapman, Emma Mould has been singing professionally since 2015 and has never looked back. She has since played at various venues across the city and has contributed on BBC Radio.
