Lecrae is back with his ninth studio album titled Restoration. The album features artists across all genres including John Legend, Kirk Franklin, YK Osiris, Jozzy, Dani Leigh, Marc E. Lecrae has always made honest albums, but this album feels like he is being super honest, even to the sense where you think this is becoming uncomfortable to hear, that's actually a really bold and great thing. I would rather someone be honest than say something for the sake of it.

While on the surface it appeared that Lecrae was living his dream, secretly his life was spinning out of control. Ready to walk away from everything - his career, marriage, and family - Lecrae decided to finally face the traumas he had experienced, and deal with it, step by step. The Road To Restoration is a window into his journey towards Restoration and as I said, its not just a little look, everything is on show on this album.

There are so many amazing songs on here, from great musical songs, to powerful words, to big sounds - but at the heart of this album is a person seeking and being restored. There is a lot of hurt and pain on this album, but there also is so much joy and gratitude for the Grace. For an artist as popular as Lecrae to create an album like this, in many ways he didn't need to make it so honest, but on the flip side I think he really needed to, and I'm glad he did.

John Legend on Drown sounds amazing, Zombie has a small hint of sounding like Crossroads by Bone Thugs N Harmony, and Still is a very fresh sound that features the brilliant Dani Leigh, this really is a top record that should be heard. We all deal with stuff, and Lecrae has made an album that shows life in an honest way which then in turns makes this album something very special.
