In mid-September Tim Hughes decided to record a DVD/CD, it was recorded at the famous London venue Shepherds Bush Empire (brilliant choice of venue). The venue was filled to capacity with 2000 worshippers, and so the cameras were rolled out and recorded what happend on stage that night. The DVD was produced by the best in the business, with Live album being produced by Nathan Nockels (Passion Live Albums) and the DVD being directed by Andy Hutch (Delirious? & Matt Redman Facedown)

This Happy Day Album has 12 tracks being around 60mins of live DVD magic, the choice of tracks on this album was a nice surprise, not only did he pick some great songs that Tim Hughes has written over the years, but also given the listener over 4 new tracks, the new tracks being 'Remember', 'Jesus Saves', 'We won't stay silent'(Compassionart) and 'Give us Your Courage'. This also means he hasn't just picked all the Golden Oldies that he knows would sell the Dvd more, Mr Hughes is pushing the barrier of worship and always wanting to see where God is leading him next musically.
But of course the classic Tim Hughes Anthems are on the CD/DVD in the form of 'Beautiful One', 'Consuming Fire', 'Here I am to Worship', 'Be My Everything' 'Happy Day', 'Dance' and 'God of Justice', as well as 'When I Survey'. The band Tim Hughes has put together is top quality, with Guitars from Mr Stu G(Delirious?) & also a guest vocals from Martin Smith (Compassionart) on track "Here I am To Worship". Having a great band behind him, Tim has managed to make the classic songs sound newer and fresher and he has also added new arrangements. My first reaction was that the older songs sound a bit more rockier than we have heard on his studio albums and the Live Soul Survivor albums that he is involved in every year.
Another part of the Dvd is a few teaching videos that have been released on the worship central website (www.worshipcentral.org.), these videos discuss flow of songs in worship and other aspects we should be looking for. Randomly on the Bonus feature is a trailer for the new Dvd by Delirious - My Soul Sings. But for me the best part of the bonus features is being able to watch the visuals of some of the songs, during the DVD Tim has videos playing in the background with the lyrics to the songs, but these videos are so creative and stylish they all well worth a watch on there own.
Hearing Tim Hughes songs Live is an worship experience, songs that lead you to the throne of Jesus, thankfully Tim with this Dvd has given us a resource for us to do that. " Happy Day" the DVD/CD Combo goes very close to re creating the feeling of being there and Worshiping the King of Kings Jesus.
