Manchester's Audacious Worship Releases 'Miracle Worker' Single

Mar 01 2020

What first began as an annual youth and young adults conference has since become one of the most impactful local churches in the North of England.

In 2007, a group of just 25 leaders relocated to Manchester in the hopes of pioneering a dynamic faith community that would point a city to the love of Jesus. Today !Audacious Church is a thriving house of worship with over 4,000 active members across multiple campuses, making it one of the largest in the UK.

!Audacious Worship is a collective of songwriters, musicians and creatives from within this ever expanding community. Written by Matt Hill and Tim Gosden (!Audacious Church) with Aaron Baxter and Sem Schaap (Life Church), ‘Miracle Worker’ is a declaration of God’s goodness and faithfulness to His people. It’s a song the writers hope will be a blessing to congregations everywhere as the lyrics remind us that the supernatural God of the Bible is moving even today.

There’s power in the name of Jesus
Conquered death and grave, alive in me
Worthy of all praise, only Jesus
There’s power in Your name, I know You’ll make a way

My God the miracle worker
Right now He’s moving in power
Name above all
Greater than all

“Sometimes we sort of pray a little bit like God is Santa Claus,” says co-writer and lead vocalist, Matt Hill. “We're sort of praying ‘give me this, God’ and ‘fix this problem in my life’ and that's a bit of a first world view of God, as in, [we think] our God is like Amazon - if I order this in the right way, He'll deliver. I didn't want [this song] to be transactional, but we wanted to declare the power of God. Sometimes we can't see that He's moving, but in truth He's moving all the time.”

The church is led by Senior Pastor’s Glyn Barrett (Director of AOG in the UK) and Sophia Barrett (Author of ‘Stay’). Their purpose? To ‘demonstrate the extraordinary God’ and become a lighthouse of transformation in the North that impacts all areas of society with the Gospel.

"We are a church who is passionate about demonstrative praise and worship. Giving God the glory and honour He deserves,” says Glyn Barrett, Senior Pastor of !Audacious Church. “This song declares who we know God to be. We sing 'my God is a Miracle Worker' both in faith and also from personal experience. We hope it will bless those who listen and sing it."

As a community, !Audacious Church is highly committed to missions, both within the UK and abroad, and sees art and music projects as an extension of this mandate to ‘go and preach the good news to everyone in the world’ (Mark 16:15 CEV).

“I hope the song encourages listeners to not give up... to take heart and give [them] some hope,” says producer and co-writer, Tim Gosden. “You might not see the way out, but God's in it. I think that really is a message which is great for anybody to take away. I know I need to hear it so I'm sure there are other people who need to be encouraged in their faith and be reminded that the God we serve is powerful and He does good things.”

The brand new song from !Audacious Worship “Miracle Worker” is available now from all streaming and music download services.
