This new compilation album titled 'Exit Music' aims to support and promote the global phenomenon that is 24-7 Prayer. Centered around a theme of the Lords Prayer, it contains 13 of the most popular worship songs of the moment intertwined with 7 'prayers'.

So first let's handle the songs, and quite honestly, I would have been hard pressed to pick a better selection of tracks for this album. It covers all the major worship artists of the moment, with some of their best songs. Tim Hughes is there with his intense songs We Must Go, Everything, and Beautiful One. Brenton Brown's anthems of Everlasting God and Hosanna keep things lively. Delirious' old worship classics Thank You For Saving Me and There Is A Light keep things focused. The ever popular Chris Tomlin pops up with the modern day classic How Great Is Our God. Rebekah Cox stuns with her beautiful This Is For Me. Matt Redman is included with Nothing But The Blood. Then there is Stuart Townend's In Christ Alone, Hillsong's epic Mighty To Save, and Hillsong United with the brilliant Inside Out.
You will probably know the majority of these songs already and clearly they have been chosen because of the sense of worship they embrace, with their heartfelt prayerful emotions and inspirational drive. If nothing else, this is simply a great collection of worship songs that you will enjoy listening to.
But then you get to the prayers mixed in between the songs. In fact, they're not so much prayers as such, more personal reflections expressed in approximately one minute chunks, read out by a variety of people. I do struggle to really see this approach appealing to a large number of people, but it does have its place. If you ever have those moments where you just want to put on a CD, shut yourself off from the world, and have a contemplative time of worship before God - this is the perfect accompaniment. You can sing, you can meditate and you can enjoy spending time with the Lord. The album would also work very well in a small group setting, especially in its probable intended situation of a 24-7 prayer session.
