Ruth A Harris Releasing First Christmas Single 'Rescuer'
Ruth A Harris, a singer-songwriter who lives in Birmingham, UK, releases 'Rescuer' on 30th November 2022, her first ever Christmas release.
It was written on the approach to Christmas in 2021, when she was mourning the loss of 3 friends and didn't "feel" very festive or in the mood to party. This emotional, real but hopeful song reminds us that Christmas is a time of remembering the birth of Jesus, which wasn't all happy families and turkey dinners- it involved possible scandal, Jesus and his family becoming refugees.
The song reminds us that we have hope for the future because this isn't the end of the story, and that God is with us in the mess of life. Ruth hopes that this Christmas song will bring comfort to people who don't feel like celebrating this Christmas.
As well as exploring her ability to write and produce music, Ruth also enjoys singing in a local community choir, playing in a clarinet quartet, and being part of the worship and AV team at her local church. 2022 has seen her stretch her performing wings too, and she looks forward to doing more in 2023.
