Rend Collective Experiment Lead Worship The iPhone Way
Following their extremely well received debut album, Northern Ireland's Rend Collective Experiment are currently causing a stir on YouTube with an incredible video showing them performing Chris Tomlin's worship song 'How Great Is Our God' using iPhones in place of musical instruments.
Four of the band members can be seen playing acoustic guitar, drums, electric guitar and strings using nothing but iPhone Apps, whilst vocals are also sung into an iPhone microphone. The video has already been a massive hit, scoring over 25,000 views in the first week alone and taking the number 13 position in the UK's top rated Entertainment category.
Commenting on the video, Kingsway Music said, "Gimmicky? Well, here’s the weird thing: it isn’t. Once you get over the initial smiles that arise from the first shots, you see more clearly what’s going on: this is not about the phones, but it’s all about the worship. Unlocked, unchained and using whatever tools there are at hand to reflect back to God a little of his greatness."
Rend Collective Experiment released their 'Organic Family Hymnal' album in January, which includes a duet with David Crowder on the track 'Faithful'.
