KXC Worship Releases 'O God Would You Move'

Nov 17 2023

KXC Worship, based at King’s Cross Church (KXC), a thriving church in the heart of London, releases new single 'O God Would You Move', ahead of a new album planned for Spring 2024.

The vision of KXC is to serve God’s purpose to make all things new, by recklessly giving ourselves away to God in worship, each other in community and the people of King’s Cross and beyond.

"We started writing this at one of our KXC songwriting days where we gather as friends to collaborate and create. It is an instant, engaging and deliberately simple song for churches to pick up. The bridge is an honest and endearing cry that builds in intensity and draws the whole congregation into prayer. It has since become an anthem for our church and beyond.

This song, perhaps more than any other, reflects the heart cry of our church family at KXC in this season. With so much chaos and instability present nationally, culturally and globally, this song is an invitation to get on our knees and contend for a fresh move of the Spirit.” - Pete Hughes | Lead Pastor

"This song is a desperate prayer for God to move in power. As a church, we have heard testimonies of the Spirit moving in profound ways in the past, drawing many to faith, and we long for a similar story to be written in our day. We caught a glimpse of that earlier this year at Asbury and it sparked a deeper level of faith and hunger in our community to contend in prayer for a move of the Holy Spirit, particularly among Gen-Z.

We recorded this version live at our weekly worship and prayer night - Seek First. Every Monday, loads of young people gather to cry out to God and pray for our local area and beyond. The unity, raw passion and presence of God in the room is palpable and often overwhelming. We were able to capture something of that with a live recording using all of our in-house production team.

In the coming months we’re going to be releasing songs from ‘Seek First Sessions’ a new album of live worship recorded at our weekly worship and prayer nights. The album features 13 tracks including ‘Hope on the Horizon’, ‘Moth to a Flame’ and loads of spontaneous moments. It’s the sound of a church community coming alive in worship and discovering more of what it means to contend in prayer."
