Interview: Jeff Senour

Jan 22 2025

Rock artist, singer, guitar player, author and pilot, Jeff Senour talks to Louder Than The Music about his new song 'Scrapbook In Heaven' and signing with Universal Music Group.

For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us about yourself and how you got involved in making music?

I am often referred to as Pilot by day and a rocker by night. God gives us each different gifts and two of mine were Aviation and Music. My mom was a musician and it’s probably where I got the gene. I started playing guitar around eight years old and was in numerous rock bands over the years through college. About 20 years ago I started writing and my goal was the right music that was inspirational and touched people in a positive way. At that time, I started my band CTS, which stands for Called To Serve. Our journey has been nothing short of miraculous as we are now signed with Universal music. We have three studio albums, released with new singles, coming out soon, including Scrapbook In Heaven. We have performed in numerous festivals, Pearl Harbor, the Pentagon and many events honoring our veterans and first responders. We also produced a show called freedom rock experience, which brings high school level orchestras on stage with our band to inspire them to live their dreams.

Could you tell us about your new song and what the inspiration behind it was?

Scrapbook In Heaven was inspired from a true story of my life. Many years ago, I lost a little boy which was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through. However, it inspired me to write the song as a Way of bringing Hope to others. It’s about the belief that even though we all experience loss that one day we will all be reunited with those we’ve lost in Heaven.

Do you have any plans to release more music shortly?

I definitely have plans to release more music and plan to for as long as I can.

What message would you like people to take from your music?

The message I would like to pass to our listeners is a message of Hope, dreams and inspiration. We live in a world very divided and I think people are looking for Hope. My goal in my music is to touch lives in a positive way and inspire them to live their dreams.

How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?

My influences are many from the Beatles to U2 too many of the current Christian artists. Our music is rock to country to Christian and can crossover in all genres.

If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?

If I could work with any songwriter, I guess it would have to be Bono. I have always been inspired by his writing and how deep it is. His music can cross over secular or Christian, but the message is always there. I also really like Zack Williams as well and would be honored to ever have the opportunity to work with him.

How would you define success in your career as an how’s it going good get all that laundry done artist?

To me success is not about money or fame, but about touching lives in a positive way. There are 12 notes and music and the power of it is immense. Having the gift of music to pass on to people is a privilege that I don’t take for granted. My goal is to touch as many hearts as possible so I guess in a way the more well-known you become the more hearts you can touch.

What is your favorite album of all time?

My favorite album of all time is probably the original meet The Beatles. They inspired me as a young boy to play guitar and live my dreams. I still have the album on vinyl.

You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?

I guess it would be my own song “One Life”. The song is about gratitude and the gift each day is. If I was on an island losing a battery it would probably mean the future was limited and that song gives hope and inspiration.

What does the next year hold for you?

Next year I think holds many new turns and surprises. More music to be released, more shows to do, more flying of the jets and helicopters I fly and more hearts to inspire. Being signed by Universal Music I think will open up some interesting doors as well.
